Blackpool Pleasure Beach is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Britain, playing host to visitors from all over the world who seek out its thrills. It has the largest roller coaster in Europe; the ‘Big One’ drops you down with a view out over the beautiful coast for the ride of your life. This amusement park has been around since 1896, when Alderman William George Bean bought the 42 acre site on which the Pleasure Beach now stands. Various rides, including the still popular Sir Hiram Maxim Flying Machines, were introduced to the area. The First World War curtailed further development of the site until 1921 when it became possible to import new rides from the USA. Today, it is as exciting and innovative in this century as it was when it was first built.

Blackpool earned its place as Britain's most popular holiday destination for many reasons, all of which will make your stay here exciting, pleasurable and very memorable. From the top of the famous Blackpool Tower you can take in the incredible expanse of coastline that Blackpool covers and on a bright day, maybe even see out to Ireland. You can ride the ‘Big One’, marvel at the biggest mirror ball in the world, plus enjoy world-class shows, cosmopolitan restaurants, vibrant nightlife, an active sports scene and the breathtakingly beautiful scenery of the Lancashire countryside and coast.
